Photography Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Malta and Introduction to the Photography Tour

Upon arrival at Malta International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. After settling in, the evening will include a welcome meeting with the photographer who will accompany you throughout the tour. This introductory session will allow you to meet your guide, discuss the itinerary in more detail, and receive helpful tips for capturing the beauty of Malta. The rest of the evening will be free to relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Valletta and The Three Cities

Start your photography adventure with a visit to Valletta, the UNESCO World Heritage capital of Malta. The day begins with exploring the Grand Harbour, one of the most beautiful natural harbors in the Mediterranean. From here, you’ll capture the harbor’s serene waters and the stunning skyline of Valletta. You will then wander through the historic streets of Valletta, photographing the iconic Baroque architecture, including the Parliament building, the Auberges, and the Triton Fountain. The Upper and Lower Barracca Gardens offer magnificent views over the harbor, perfect for panoramic shots of the city and sea.

In the afternoon, cross the Grand Harbour by boat to explore the historic Three Cities – Birgu, Isla, and Bormla. These charming cities are full of narrow alleyways, ancient fortifications, and beautiful palaces. You will have plenty of opportunities to photograph the bustling streets and the waterfront, where you can capture the contrast between Malta’s rich history and modern life. The marina, bastions, and the local architecture provide endless photographic inspiration.

Day 3: Mdina and Traditional Maltese Villages

On day three, you will visit Mdina, Malta’s ancient walled city. Known as the “Silent City,” Mdina offers a wealth of photographic opportunities, from its three grand gates to its narrow, atmospheric alleyways. Capture the beauty of St. Paul’s Cathedral, its elegant stonework and intricate details, as well as the panoramic views from the bastions, offering a bird’s-eye view of Malta’s countryside and distant coastline.

In the afternoon, visit some of Malta’s most authentic villages, such as Mqabba, Qrendi, and Siggiewi. These charming rural locations are perfect for capturing the island’s traditional life. Wander through the village streets and photograph the stunning local architecture, the surrounding countryside, and the vibrant, often untold stories of these less-visited locations. These villages provide an authentic glimpse into Malta’s heritage, away from the usual tourist spots.

Day 4: Gozo – Malta’s Tranquil Sister Island

On day four, you will travel to Gozo, the peaceful sister island of Malta. Start the day with a visit to Rabat and Xatt l-Ahmar, where you can photograph Gozo’s unique rural landscapes and coastline. From there, head to Dwejra and Gharb, known for their dramatic natural rock formations and stunning coastal views. These locations are perfect for landscape photography, especially with the changing light throughout the day.

Next, explore the traditional villages of Ghasri and Gordan, where you can photograph the peaceful countryside and authentic rural Maltese life. The island’s quiet roads, ancient stone houses, and serene landscapes provide plenty of photographic opportunities. In the late afternoon, head to Ta’ Xwejni and Dahlet Qorrot, where the tranquil waters and rocky shorelines make for beautiful sunset shots, capturing Gozo’s untouched beauty.

Day 5: Cottonera, Marsaxlokk, and Sunset Photography

On the fifth day, explore the historic cities of Cottonera, including Birgu, Isla, and Bormla. These charming cities offer a wonderful blend of narrow streets, palaces, and fortifications, perfect for street photography and capturing the essence of old Malta. The Grand Harbour, visible from several points in the Three Cities, provides an excellent backdrop for wide-angle shots of the area.

In the afternoon, visit Marsaxlokk, a traditional fishing village known for its colorful luzzus (fishing boats). Here, you’ll have the chance to photograph the vibrant boats in the harbor, the lively market stalls, and the authentic atmosphere of this seaside village. As the day draws to a close, head to a few key locations for sunset photography, such as Delimara, Ghar Lapsi, and Zurrieq. These spots offer dramatic seascapes and beautiful sunset light, perfect for capturing the beauty of Malta’s coastline.

Day 6: Departure from Malta

On your final day, you will be transferred from your hotel to Malta International Airport for your departure. The day will be free for last-minute photographs or souvenirs before your flight.
